Recently, the Allotrope Partners consortium successfully demonstrated a battery energy storage system (BESS) as part of the Challenge for Innovation program implemented by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Bestiani collaborated with the Allotrope Partners consortium to install and operate the system at a factory in the Ho Chi Minh City Technology Park.
The constant increase in grid congestion is leading to a reduction in solar energy production and its failure to fully utilize the system. With the continued expansion of various renewable energy sources, including rooftop solar, Vietnam must manage and reduce the pressure on the electricity grid.
The BESS system is among the first energy storage systems installed in Vietnam and plays an important role in providing valued services to the electricity grid, helping facilities reduce grid dependence and improve energy management. It is a fully integrated system that automates the charging and discharging cycle based on preset times and loads.
Bestiani is pleased to be responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of the BESS system at the Sonion Vietnam plant, using a monitoring system capable of providing real-time operational data. The comprehensive report includes information on costs and financial structure, as well as economic efficiency. The partnership group has demonstrated that the BESS can be applied in commercial settings, offering direct benefits to customers and solving many of the energy challenges facing manufacturing companies.
